Kenny Wayne Shepherd played with such intensity throughout. He exhibits skill and flare during face melting solos making his trusty guitar sing like a bird, especially during the likes of fan favorites such as “True Lies.” During his set, it was like he was channeling Hendrix during his rendition of “Gypsy Eyes” and “Voodoo Child,” charging his White Fender Stratocaster in a manner Jimi would have been proud of. An explosive, yet refreshing cover of “Search and Destroy” by Iggy Pop demonstrated the diversity of his playing and influences.
