Rival Sons – O2 Academy Newcastle

Rival Sons are regular visitors to the North East, and as such, have amassed quite a following here. Tonight it’s easy to understand why. Front man Jay Buchanan appears to be channeling many of the greats before him, he performs with such magnitude. The Son’s debonair axe man, Scott Holiday, left the crowd in awe with mind blowing solos during the likes of the epic, “Manifest Destiny Pt. 1″ and “Tell Me Something.” Powerhouse drummer Mike Miley is integral to their sound, showcasing a phenomenal solo during the encore. The band also took the opportunity to introduce the audience to new bass player, Dave Beste, who recently took the place of Robin Everhart, who left the band in 2013.
